Ingredients

  • ½ cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons garlic (minced)
  • ¼ teaspoon oregano (dried)
  • ¼ teaspoon basil (dried)
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 3 tablespoons turbinado sugar
  • 1¼ cups extra virgin olive oil

Instructions

Instructions

  1. Combine the Base: Add the balsamic vinegar, garlic, oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, kosher salt, and turbinado sugar to a blender.½ cup balsamic vinegar, 2 tsp garlic, ¼ tsp oregano, ¼ tsp basil, ¼ tsp red pepper flakes, ¼ tsp kosher salt, 3 tbsp turbinado sugar
  2. Blend the Ingredients: Blend until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
  3. Emulsify the Dressing: With the blender running on low speed, slowly drizzle in the olive oil until the vinaigrette becomes thick, smooth, and fully emulsified.1¼ cups extra virgin olive oil
  4. Taste and Adjust: Taste the vinaigrette and adjust the salt if needed.
  5. Store: Transfer to a glass jar or airtight container and refrigerate. Shake well before serving.

Notes

  • Emulsifying: Slowly streaming in the olive oil creates a stable, creamy vinaigrette that stays together longer.
  • Storage: Refrigerate for up to 2 weeks. Allow the dressing to sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes before serving, then shake well.
  • Olive Oil: A good-quality extra virgin olive oil makes the biggest difference in the finished dressing.
  • Serving Suggestions: Excellent on mixed greens, spinach salads, grilled vegetables, roasted mushrooms, pasta salads, caprese salads, or as a simple vegetable marinade.
