Whipped Rum Butter
The quick rum syrup gives this whipped butter mellow depth without making it sharp or loose. It slowly melts into a warm banana pancake, carrying just enough spice into each bite.

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons dark rum
- 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar (packed)

- ½ teaspoon cinnamon (ground)
- ⅛ teaspoon nutmeg (ground)

Instructions
Instructions
- Make the Rum Syrup: Add the dark rum and brown sugar to a small saucepan. Warm over low heat for 1–2 minutes, stirring constantly, just until the sugar dissolves. Do not reduce into a thick caramel.2 tbsp dark rum, 2 tbsp dark brown sugar

Notes
- Use Softened Butter: The butter should be soft enough to whip, but not melted. Melted butter can separate and will not give the same fluffy texture.
- Cool the Syrup Completely: Warm rum syrup will melt the butter and loosen the texture. Let it cool fully before whipping it in.
- Dark Rum: Dark rum gives the butter the best Bananas Foster-style flavor. Spiced rum can also work if you want a warmer flavor.
- Smooth Texture: The quick syrup dissolves the brown sugar so the butter tastes rich without turning gritty.
- If the Butter Loosens: Chill it for 5–10 minutes, then whip again until fluffy.
- Storage: Store refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks, or freeze for up to 3 months.
- Serving Suggestions: Serve with Bananas Foster Pancakes, Classic Buttermilk-Style Pancakes, Sweet Potato Pancakes, waffles, biscuits, French toast, roasted bananas, warm cornbread, or grilled pineapple.
