More Than Recipes.

A life built around food, family, and the people who feed us.

How It Started

“I started Good Buddy Butter Club because I wanted to build a life for my family and me around food and the people who feed us.”

Alex Stone, founder

There is a lot to discover by following an ingredient, asking a cook a question, or spending time in someone else’s kitchen. You learn about the work. You hear about the family. You begin to understand why a particular dish matters.

That curiosity is the starting point for Good Buddy Butter Club. We want to learn how food is grown, made, sold, and shared—and bring those discoveries home in a way that people can watch, read, cook from, and enjoy.

Stories From the People Who Feed Us

The people behind the food are central to what we are building.

We want to spend time with farmers, restaurant owners, food truck cooks, grocers, and others whose work feeds their communities. Each offers a different view of food: the choices made in a field, the rhythm of a busy kitchen, the knowledge behind a grocery counter, or the recipe someone has carried with them for years.

Our approach starts with listening. How did they get here? Who taught them? What do they care about? What would they like people to understand about their work?

Through film, photography, and writing, we want to make room for those answers. A dish gives us a place to begin. The person making it gives us a reason to stay.

Recipes for Your Own Kitchen

Recipes give you a way to take part. They turn something you discover here into something you can make in your own kitchen: an unfamiliar ingredient to try, a new technique to practice, or a meal to share.

We are interested in the practical details and the meaning a recipe can carry: where it comes from, how it is made, and what makes people return to it. Whether you are cooking something familiar or trying it for the first time, there should be something here that makes you curious enough to get started.

Equipment & Products

Learning about food also means understanding what helps us make it. A pan, a knife, or a small kitchen tool can change how a task feels and how the food turns out.

We want to understand those differences: how equipment works, when it is useful, and what makes a product worth bringing into your kitchen. This is a place to explore the tools and products around food, ask useful questions, and understand the work behind them.

Keep Learning

There is always another question to ask and another skill to practice.

We want education to be part of the experience here: learning about ingredients, becoming more comfortable with equipment, refining a technique, and understanding the culture and heritage connected to a meal.

Some discoveries will help with the next thing you cook. Others may change the way you think about a familiar food. There is room for both.

A Home for the Whole Story

A short video or a photograph on social media may be the first thing you find. This website is where you can follow that interest further: meet the person, read the story, find the recipe, and explore what comes next.
